The Kiln Club - Vitrigraph Pull and Project

About These Classes

Day 1: Vitrigraph Pulling Demo Watch molten glass transform as we demonstrate the mesmerizing process of vitrigraph pulling. Learn how to prepare, load, and pull glass from a kiln to create flowing cane and stringer with one-of-a-kind movement and color.

Day 2: Create Your Own Project + More Pulling Put your new skills into action! Using vitrigraph made during the demo thr previous week, you’ll design and complete your own fused glass project (maximum size 5” x 5”). You’ll also have the chance to participate in another vitrigraph pull to expand your selection of glass components.

✨ We encourage everyone to join for both sessions—you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the process and walk away with a finished piece that showcases the beauty of vitrigraph.

Vitrigraph is the process of heating a pot of glass in a special kiln until it flows out the bottom, creating long strands that can be pulled, twisted, and shaped into stringers, murrini, and cane. These hand-pulled elements can then be incorporated into fused glass artwork for incredible patterns and effects. It’s an exciting, somewhat unpredictable process — and a fun one to watch! Initial pull will begin between 5:30-6pm

About Kiln Club

The Kiln Club is a Project Club where fused glass artists gather, fire it up, figure it out and learn something new together.

Looking for a fun, social, and creative way to explore new fused glass techniques? Join our community of glass lovers for monthly fused glass projects — think book club, but with color combos, kilns, and creative sparks. Each month, we choose a project for the group to complete together. We don't portray we know what we are doing — just willing to lead the way by picking the technique, sharing a tutorial or handout, and providing the needed supplies. We’ll meet weekly throughout to work on the project side by side, ask questions, swap tips, and cheer each other on.Spots are limited to 8. Whether you're trying something totally new or helping others learn your favorite technique, this is your space to experiment, connect, and grow as an artist.

  • Think “book club” but for fused glass. Each month we’ll have a theme: sometimes technique-driven (like pulling vitrograph, combing, or coldworking), other times project-based (like making coasters, suncatchers, or platters).

  • We’ll learn together, share resources and ideas, and make our own unique versions of each project.

  • Everyone will take home finished work and a growing library of new techniques.
