Come get hands-on with the fascinating world of wood joinery—where craftsmanship meets clever engineering. This free member-exclusive event will walk you through 15 types of joints used in woodworking, from the humble butt joint to the precision-cut dovetail.
Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your skills, this is the perfect chance to explore how to incorporate a variety of joints into your future woodworking projects. Expect:

A curated collection of joint samples you can hold and inspect

A deep dive into each joint’s strengths, quirks, and best uses

Live demonstrations of how a few favorites are made—from simple set-ups to advanced techniques
We’ll cover everything from pocket screws and biscuit joints to mortise & tenon, bridle joints, and even the elusive lock miter. No matter your skill level, you’ll walk away inspired to level up your own projects and get creative with joints!

SATURDAY JUNE 14, 2-5PM
Join us for an inspiring glass studio demo where you'll get an up-close look at the exciting world of glass art! We'll begin with a live demonstration of essential glass cutting techniques, followed by engaging overviews of stained glass, fused glass, and mosaic glass projects. Learn about the tools, materials, and processes that bring each of these vibrant art forms to life.

After the demos, you'll have the opportunity to roll up your sleeves and try it yourself! Choose a hands-on activity that interests you most and create your own mini glass masterpiece with guidance from our experienced instructors.
​All skill levels are welcome—come discover your favorite way to work with glass!




SUNDAY MAY 18, 3-5PM
In this combined leather and sewing demonstration we'll start with a demonstration on the ins and outs of the sewing machine. Threading the machine, different stitch types and feet with tips and tricks. Plus discover the artistry of leather tooling including how to use a swivel knife, select the perfect stamps, and learn to bring your designs to life with expert dyeing and painting techniques.

Following the demonstration, there will be an interactive Q&A session. Come meet and socialize with fellow members of the cave, share insights, and perhaps even spark new friendships.​​​




SUNDAY APRIL 27, 3-5PM
Our resident Blacksmiths, Jim and Jeremy will be hosting a captivating 2-hour seminar that will teach DIYcave Members the fundamentals of transforming steel into both practical and stunning creations. Witness the mesmerizing process of using our forges, as well as techniques for drawing out, twisting, and shaping metals. In this session, our instructors will join forces to craft a beautiful knife blade right before your eyes.

Following the demonstration, there will be an interactive Q&A session where you can get all your questions answered. This is also a fantastic opportunity to meet and socialize with fellow members of the cave, share insights, and perhaps even spark new friendships.​​
