About This Class

Looking for a creative, hands-on date night that’s a little different (and a lot more sparkly)? Join us for a Date Night That Really Rocks in our Lapidary studio, where you and your partner will turn rough stone into polished gems—together.

In this guided, beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn the fundamentals of lapidary work as you shape, grind, and polish stone on professional equipment. From choosing your rough material to watching it transform into a smooth, glossy cabochon, you’ll experience the full magic of the process side-by-side.

No prior experience needed—just curiosity, a sense of adventure, and someone you like spending time with. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion, planning a unique Valentine’s date, or just want a fun night out, this class is all about connection, creativity, and discovering the beauty hidden inside stone.

• Hands-on instruction with lapidary grinding and polishing wheels

• Learn the basic workflow from rough stone to finished piece

• Create one or more polished stones to take home

What to Wear

Please wear close-toed shoes, no loose clothing, and hair tied back for safety in the studio.​

What to Bring

If you have personal protective equipment, please bring it with you. Otherwise, protective gear will be provided as needed.

Prerequisites

No Experience Necessary.

Ages 13+ welcome if accompanied by a parent/guardian. Both need to register and pay.

Cancellation Policy

Refunds, Credits & Transfers

We understand that emergencies happen, so if you are unable to attend your class and you cancel with:

• More than 14 (fourteen) days notice before your class, you may request a full refund or transfer the full amount paid to another class.

• Less than 14 (fourteen) days notice before your class, your payment is non refundable. However you may transfer the amount paid, minus a 15% cancellation fee, to any class within 90 days of request. It is not guaranteed that a comparable class will be offered within 90 days.

• Less than 48 (forty eight) hours before your class begins, your payment is non refundable. It is extremely difficult to fill cancelled spaces with short notice.

• After class start date/time: No credits, refunds or prorating of fees will be given for missed portions or early withdrawals.

Changes or Cancellations

DIYcave reserves the right to cancel any class, limit class size, change class times or substitute instructors for those listed in the schedule. If a class is canceled, students may choose to receive a full refund or may transfer – with no fee – to another class or workshop. If DIYcave cancels for any reason, all payments can be refunded.
