About This Class:

This class explores traditional leaded stained glass construction, with a focus on how lead came is used to build strong, well-balanced panels. Students will learn how lead functions both visually and structurally, how panels are planned and assembled, and how design decisions influence stability and long-term performance.
Instruction includes a demonstration of the glazing process, followed by guided construction of a 7” × 7” geometric panel. The emphasis is on layout, assembly, and understanding the behavior of lead rather than glass cutting, allowing students to fully engage with the leaded method and how it differs from copper foil.
Students will leave with a solid, practical understanding of leaded stained glass construction and how these techniques translate from small panels to larger architectural work.
