Join us for a bright and sparkly winter project in our Stained Glass Snowflake Suncatcher class! ❄️✨

Whether you love cozy winter décor, shimmering light, or simply want to try stained glass for the first time, this class is a fun and creative way to learn the craft—no prior experience needed.

In this hands-on, two-day Stained Glass 101 class, you’ll create a beautiful stained glass snowflake suncatcher using the copper foil (Tiffany) method. You’ll choose from studio-provided snowflake patterns and select glass colors that make your piece truly one of a kind. Our experienced instructor will guide you through each step of the process, with demonstrations and plenty of individual support.

By the end of the class, you’ll leave with a finished snowflake ready to hang in your window—plus a solid foundation in stained glass techniques you can build on in future projects.

Day 1:You’ll learn about different types of glass and color selection, how to score and break glass for precise shapes, grind pieces to fit your pattern, and apply copper foil.

Between Sessions:Most students don’t finish grinding and foiling during the first session. If needed, you can book additional time in our Glass Studio between classes to complete your pieces.

Day 2:You’ll solder your snowflake, add hanging hardware, apply patina if desired, wax and polish your finished piece, and leave with a sparkling stained glass snowflake suncatcher ready to display proudly.

*Due to the use of lead during soldering, we do not recommend students that are pregnant or breastfeeding take our stained glass classes.

What to Wear

Please wear close-toed shoes, no loose clothing, and hair tied back for safety in the studio.​

What to Bring

If you have personal protective equipment, please bring it with you. Otherwise, protective gear will be provided as needed.

Prerequisites

No Experience Required.

Ages 14+ welcome if accompanied by a parent/guardian. Both need to register and pay.

Certification

Upon completion of this class, you will be certified to use our Glass Studio Tools.

Cancellation Policy

Refunds, Credits & Transfers

We understand that emergencies happen, so if you are unable to attend your class and you cancel with:

• More than 14 (fourteen) days notice before your class, you may request a full refund or transfer the full amount paid to another class.

• Less than 14 (fourteen) days notice before your class, your payment is non refundable. However you may transfer the amount paid, minus a 15% cancellation fee, to any class within 90 days of request. It is not guaranteed that a comparable class will be offered within 90 days.

• Less than 48 (forty eight) hours before your class begins, your payment is non refundable. It is extremely difficult to fill cancelled spaces with short notice.

• After class start date/time: No credits, refunds or prorating of fees will be given for missed portions or early withdrawals.

Changes or Cancellations

DIYcave reserves the right to cancel any class, limit class size, change class times or substitute instructors for those listed in the schedule. If a class is canceled, students may choose to receive a full refund or may transfer – with no fee – to another class or workshop. If DIYcave cancels for any reason, all payments can be refunded.
