Big Brothers Big Sisters at DIYcave
The High Desert Makers (HDM) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving lives by bringing the benefits of "Making" to our community. We pair with other local organizations to reach those that are in need of confidence, self-efficacy, pastimes, hobbies, career options, education, and fun.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is a national mentoring program with local chapters that enables a one on one connection in the community between an adult and a child by creating a Big/Little match. The Big seeks out activities and opportunities to share with their Little that guide, challenge, interest, and engage them in familiar but also new ways. DIYcave is a perfect place to strengthen the bond between a Big and Little through a shared creative activity in one of their many mediums.

The partnership with DIYcave, HDM and Big Brothers Big Sisters helps to beneficially impact those community members that are trying to improve the quality of life for themselves and others.

Two Bigs who are also volunteer stewards at DIYcave have had fun bringing their Littles in to work on projects in wood and glass. They are excited for other Big/Little matches to experience the incredible creative and inspiring maker space with the generous support of the High Desert Makers!
