Create something that blooms all year long. In this Mother’s Day–inspired workshop, you’ll design and make your own colorful fused glass flowers or mushrooms—perfect for brightening up a garden, potted plant, or windowsill.

This class is all about creativity and play—no glass cutting required. You’ll choose your colors, shapes, and style, then build your design using vibrant glass pieces. Your artwork will be fired in the kiln to fuse the glass together, then fired a second time on a mold to create its final shape.

Perfect for beginners and anyone curious about glass art, this workshop is a welcoming introduction to fused glass. You’ll learn the basics of working with glass, including layering colors, using frit (finely ground glass), and composing a design that comes to life in the kiln.

Our instructors will guide you every step of the way, sharing tips for combining colors, creating visual interest, and working safely with glass tools and materials.

Glass fusing is the process of joining compatible sheet glasses together in a kiln until the glass fuses at approximately 1490 degrees Fahrenheit. It grants you the power to create colorful, dynamic works of glass art that are completely unique. Unlike many other glass forms, glass fusing allows you as much time as you need to bring your designs to life since you are working with the glass while it is cold.

You will make up to 3 mushrooms during this 2 hour workshop

Your fused glass projects will stay at the studio after the workshop to be fired in our kiln. We will notify you as soon as they’re ready to be picked up! *Shipping is available for an additional cost.

Please wear close-toed shoes, no loose clothing, and hair tied back for safety in the studio.​

If you have personal protective equipment, please bring it with you. Otherwise, protective gear will be provided as needed.

No Experience Required.

Ages 14+ welcome if accompanied by a parent/guardian. Both need to register and pay.

Cancellation Policy

Refunds, Credits & Transfers

We understand that emergencies happen, so if you are unable to attend your class and you cancel with:

• More than 14 (fourteen) days notice before your class, you may request a full refund or transfer the full amount paid to another class.

• Less than 14 (fourteen) days notice before your class, your payment is non refundable. However you may transfer the amount paid, minus a 15% cancellation fee, to any class within 90 days of request. It is not guaranteed that a comparable class will be offered within 90 days.

• Less than 48 (forty eight) hours before your class begins, your payment is non refundable. It is extremely difficult to fill cancelled spaces with short notice.

• After class start date/time: No credits, refunds or prorating of fees will be given for missed portions or early withdrawals.

Changes or Cancellations

DIYcave reserves the right to cancel any class, limit class size, change class times or substitute instructors for those listed in the schedule. If a class is canceled, students may choose to receive a full refund or may transfer – with no fee – to another class or workshop. If DIYcave cancels for any reason, all payments can be refunded.
