On Saturday August 3rd the community came out in support to make the Kids’ Entrepreneur Market a huge success! This is a market run entirely by kids ages 5-17 who sell their own products and services. This event supported 90+ kids as they offered their artisan crafts, graphic arts, services, games, food, drinks, jewelry, and more! In addition, a nationally competing aerial silks team was performing as well.Â
These are the 90+ kids who participated, three of which were lucky winners of scholarships gifted from High Desert Makers to help fund their making businesses.Â
Several local businesses donated prizes for raffles creating ten amazing packages which all benefited the Kids Entrepreneur grant and scholarship program for young entrepreneurs. Â
The DIYcave was there to promote our kids' classes we offer including 3D printing, sheet metal art, welding, woodworking, Lego robotics, and more! Check out our upcoming kids classes. Did you know that if you are working at the DIYcave you can bring a kid 8 years or older with you for free? You can also request private instruction to cater to your child's specific learning needs. See our FAQ page for more answers to your questions about kids at the cave.
See more of the event from Central Oregon Daily News who showed up to film the event and interview some of the kids. Read the article and watch the segment.
If you missed this one, be sure to make it to the Kids’ Entrepreneur Holiday Market at the Elks Lodge in NE Bend on Sunday, December 15.
