Announcing Our New Lapidary Studio — Now Open to the Public!

We’re excited to share that our brand-new Lapidary Studio is officially open—and now available to everyone! After giving DIYcave Members an exclusive sneak-peek on Sunday, 11/23, we’re thrilled to welcome the wider community into this brand-new creative space. If you’ve ever wanted to turn raw stone into beautiful cabochons for jewelry, art pieces, or personal collections, now is your chance. Simply schedule your lapidary training session, then come in and start shaping, grinding, and polishing your own stones.

During our member preview event, guests got a behind-the-scenes tour of the Jewelry Studio and a first look at our specialty tools, including demonstrations with the jewelry shear, rolling mill, polisher, and more. The highlight of the day was a lapidary demo featuring the new equipment in our Lapidary Room. Members got to see examples of each stage of the process— cutting stone slabs on the rock saw, attached to a dop stick and and multiple stages of shaping them into cabochons on the cabbing machine. Its mesmerizing to see stones transformed into smooth, shining gems ready for jewelry.

This new studio opens up a world of creative possibilities—pair your finished stones with handmade metalwork, explore new design ideas, or simply enjoy the satisfaction of shaping and polishing stone with your own hands. We’ll continue offering classes, demos, and opportunities to learn, and we can’t wait to see the beautiful pieces our community creates.
