The first woodworking project Scott made at the DIY Cave was a cutting board before attempting the crib for his granddaughter. It was a large undertaking that he started in January and completed early March; Scott estimated that he has 50 hours into the project.
Scott got the plans from a 2006 issue of WOOD Magazine and downloaded the plans from the web. With the use of simple decorative connector bolts and concealed cross dowels the crib can transform into a day bed for a toddler and then into a twin-size bed. So as the child grows up, so does the bed!
It's been a labor of love for Scott and we've loved watching it all come together. It's hard to believe that Scott started the project with raw lumber that we planed himself here at the cave. We're honored to support members like Scott who are motivated to learn how to turn their ideas into a reality! Awesome job Scott!!
